Coletta is one of the longest standing members at Mutemwa Leprosy Care Centre and was great friends with John Bradburne.
At just twelve years old, she was diagnosed with leprosy. Sadly at that time, there was no cure or medication, so she suffered a lot of physical pain and emotional distress. She says “I feel lucky to have spent her life at Mutemwa not suffering as much discrimination as others.” However she feels sad that because of her leprosy she missed out on a childhood because of a debilitating disease.
Coletta is a busy grandmother to nineteen grandchildren and still lives at Mutemwa.
