John Bradburne on Love

John Bradburne on Love

£10.00

Description

A selection of poems by John Bradburne selected by Professor David Crystal linguist and author, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Bradburne’s death on Sept 5th 1979. Of all the themes which comprise John Bradburne’s enormous poetic output, one is pre-eminent: the nature of love. He writes of it from many points of view- as a universal human experience, as an insight into the nature of divinity, as a presence throughout creation, and, above all, as the force which brought him to care for the leprosy sufferers at Mutemwa in Zimbabwe. The combination of theological awareness and everyday reality, enlivened by clever word-play and vivid imagery, provides an inspiring and memorable reading experience.
